Product Description
Petrokem HB® Epoxy Paint HBE100® is a two component high build, high solids epoxy painting system specially developed to meet the increasing demand for high performance epoxy coating systems. An outstanding high solids epoxy resin based Petrokem HB® Epoxy Paint HBE100® can be used in various protective coating applications in marine and industrial environments for corrosion protection and decorative purposes on metal and also to protect non metal substrates such as wood, concrete fiber glass, cement etc. The product is recommended for metal surfaces such as offshore steel structures, ship decks, metal pipe lines, bridges, radial gates, chemical plants and beverage factories. The product is also recommended for wooden structures and concrete surfaces such as concrete/wooden floors as an industrial floor paint.
Product Application
Application of Primer
- Apply one or two coats of Petrokem 3Dot® 2K Auto Primer.
Application of Petrokem HB® Epoxy Paint HBE100®
- Mix thoroughly two volumes of Petrokem HBE100® resin and one volume of Petrokem HBE100® hardener (If not mixed properly the paint will not perform well or will not harden at all.) Mixing can be carried out by using a spatula or similar tool. Use a suitable mixing mechanical device for large quantities. 5 minutes of thorough mixing is recommended.
- Apply the mixed paint to the surface by using a brush/roller/airless spray equipment. The paint could be applied to the bare metal or use Petrokem 3Dot® 2K Auto Primer ( one or two coats ) as the primer coat/s and then apply Petrokem HB® Epoxy paint HBE100® as the second coat for best protection against corrosion. Allow the paint to dry at least for 36 hours before using the surface. Another coat could be applied after 24 hours if required. The coating will gain its full toughness in 72 hours.
Product Coverage
- 3.5 sqm – 4.5 sqm per Kg without addition of thinner.
- 4.0 sqm – 5.0 sqm per Kg with 4% Epoxy thinner.
